When we begin our work together, we’ll talk about what you’ve been struggling with most recently and start there. I’ll give you tools and skills to ground yourself, communicate effectively, and make your daily life a bit easier. I often pull these tools—things like breathing exercises or mindfulness techniques—from my experience as a certified yoga teacher. They’ll help you feel more present in your body and able to observe your emotions rather than letting them overwhelm you.


Once we’ve tackled the immediate issues, we’ll begin exploring more deeply to find their origins. We’ll move at whatever pace feels comfortable for you, but ultimately getting to the bottom of these issues will allow you to experience long-lasting relief. Through this deeper work, you’ll be able to let go of the things outside your control, express your needs and set boundaries, stop feeling bad or guilty about taking up space, and create a life you love.

  • You’ve gotten yourself this far—that’s a huge achievement! I know that you’re a capable person, so I’ll give you all the relevant information I know about the opinions and theories of experts, and then let you chew on them and discover what insights they bring up.


  • As someone with high expectations of themselves, it can be difficult to see all the ways in which you’ve succeeded in life. I want to help you see your strengths and build upon them in our work. For example, if you’re generally a logical or analytical thinker, I’ll help you understand the logic behind the methods we’ll use together. This will help you feel confident that this work is evidence-based and will get you where you want to go.


  • I know caring for others and being independent are integral parts of your life. So, instead of asking you to give that up completely, I’ll help you figure out how to have more balance in your life while keeping those values intact. We’ll also identify your values regarding other areas of life, and use those as a compass to guide us on the path forward.


  • It’s hard to move on from the past when your body is holding onto the feelings you felt then. Together, we can process and understand how the past impacts you today, and come up with solutions that can help you start feeling better.
