ONLINE EMDR INTENSIVES IN SEATTLE & ACROSS WA + CA
Your next chapter awaits.
You’re ready to move forward from problems that belong in your past & see things really change.
Life is busy, and setting aside an hour each week for the indefinite future isn’t right for everyone. Maybe you’ve done traditional therapy for a long time already, but haven’t seen the results you’d hoped for. Or, maybe, you intend to continue working with your current therapist but want to overcome a specific issue they’re not trained to treat.
EMDR intensives can help you make progress on an accelerated timeline.
IF YOU…
Need to resolve an issue before an upcoming major life event—like a wedding, career change, medical procedure, becoming a parent, empty nest, or retirement
Feel most aspects of life are going well, but would like to resolve a specific issue without spending months or years addressing it.
Have done EMDR before and found it helpful, but don’t have time to return to weekly therapy.
EMDR intensives are an innovative alternative to weekly therapy that allows you to go deeper, faster.
Because intensive sessions are longer, happen close together, and have a concentrated focus, it’s possible to see change and healing far more quickly. This could potentially lead to cost savings as compared to traditional therapy.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a natural and effective way to heal from traumatic experiences. This evidence-based method helps troubling memories get “unstuck” in your brain so you don’t have to continue reliving how you felt in the past. You can learn more about EMDR here.

Click here to schedule a complimentary 30-minute phone consultation to discuss whether EMDR intensives are a good fit for you. If you’re currently working with a primary therapist, I will ask your consent to consult with them as well.
If we decide to move forward with working together, we’ll schedule an 90-minute pre-intensive session and I will send you assessments to complete at home before that first appointment.
-
During your pre-intensive session, I’ll explain how the process works and set expectations for the work we’ll do. We’ll review your assessments, discuss your history, pinpoint the issue you want to work on, and explore recent examples of how it affects your life. You’ll also receive a personalized treatment workbook to support you throughout and after treatment.
Each EMDR Intensive session lasts 2.5 hours, with a 10-minute break halfway through. In the first intensive session, we’ll refine your treatment plan and focus on building positive resources to help you approach this work from your strongest self. These resources will also help you transition smoothly back into your day after the session without feeling weighed down by what we worked on.
Most treatment plans will consist of 3 intensive sessions, but we can determine how many you will need during our initial consultation.
In subsequent EMDR Intensive sessions, we’ll start with a brief check-in to discuss any new insights or questions. We’ll use a positive resource—like grounding techniques or mindfulness—before reprocessing the targeted memory and end the session with another positive resource to help contain any leftover emotions.
After the intensive sessions, we’ll have an 90-minute post-intensive session to debrief, review your experience, and plan the next steps. These might include things like a referral to a therapist for long-term goals or developing a self-care plan.
WHATEVER YOU’VE BEEN THROUGH…
It is possible to turn the page on trauma.

FAQs

EMDR may not be an effective treatment for those who are actively abusing drugs or alcohol, anyone under the age of 21, or anyone who has attempted suicide or stayed in a psychiatric hospital in the last 2 years. It’s also not recommended for those diagnosed with BPD, DID, or NPD. Additionally, anyone currently engaged in active legal matters or insurance claims may want to wait to resolve those things before beginning treatment. Since this work will be done virtually, you must have access to a private space and a reliable internet connection, and your schedule will need to be able accommodate the extended timeframe of intensive sessions.
(*Note: If you are under the age of 21, I can refer you to providers who work with younger clients.) -
Intensive therapy involves longer or more frequent therapy sessions over a shorter period, often several hours a day for a few days or weeks. It's designed to tackle issues quickly and deeply, providing focused support to help you make significant progress in a short time. This approach can be especially helpful for addressing complex or severe issues. Schedule a free consultation and we can discuss how intensive EMDR could benefit you.
