ONLINE THERAPY FOR BURNOUT & ANXIETY IN SEATTLE & ACROSS WA + CA

Worry less. Enjoy life more.

You’ve always been good at keeping all the plates spinning—at work, at home, and in your relationships.

But lately, you’re feeling exhausted, unmotivated, and fed up with doing everything for everyone.

You never used to mind being the person your loved ones and colleagues relied on, but their lack of appreciation for—or even acknowledgment of—all you do has you wondering why you bother. It’s not like anyone ever returns the favor.

This growing resentment has bubbled up in many of the interactions you have. After bottling up how you feel for days or weeks, the dam eventually bursts and conversations with your partner or kids spiral out into fights. You feel guilty when this happens, but can’t seem to stop yourself in the moment.

Now, you not only feel disconnected from the people and things you care about—you feel disconnected from yourself. It seems like there’s no room for your desires or aspirations (assuming you had any energy to pursue them).

Maybe you’ve tried to challenge your anxious thoughts and use logic to overcome them. But no amount of thinking gets rid of the pit in your stomach or the pressure in your chest.

Anxiety & burnout have you feeling…

Like you’re always waiting for the other shoe to drop, constantly on edge and unsettled.

Unheard by the people around you, even though you spend so much energy listening to and looking out for them.

Overwhelmed at work and at home, and unable to relax at the end of the day.

Unable to find the motivation and drive that have always propelled you forward—and now you feel stuck.

MY APPROACH

Helping support & guide you through the challenges of being human.

When we begin working together, we’ll discuss the reasons you decided to seek therapy and what you hope to get out of it. In our initial session, I’ll ask about your past experiences, current challenges, and what you feel is going well for you. Then, we’ll work together to come up with a plan to help you reach your goals that builds on the strengths you already have.

In our weekly sessions, we’ll work to uncover the beliefs you have that aren’t serving you. We’ll also explore emotions and how they manifest in your body, and work on communicating feelings to help you strengthen the relationships in your life. This process is collaborative, so I welcome your feedback and want to know if you feel like our approach isn’t working for you—we can always try something else if needed.

Our time together won’t always be about working through the tough stuff, though. Joy and laughter are an important part of our lives both in and out of therapy, so we’ll find ways to bring more positive experiences into your world.

I’ll regularly check in with you to review your progress so you can be sure you’re getting what you need out of this work. Once we’ve tackled your initial concerns, we’ll create a plan for maintaining your gains and facing future challenges. Often, this will involve spacing our sessions out a bit to give you some time to put the things you’ve learned into practice in your life with the support and accountability I provide.

From there, you may want to check in with me a few times a year to maintain the progress you’ve made. No matter how much time has passed, you’ll always be welcomed back.

Questions?

FAQs

  • Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged and excessive stress, often related to work or caregiving roles. It can leave you feeling overwhelmed, drained, and unable to meet constant demands. Signs of burnout include feeling cynical or detached, reduced performance, and a lack of motivation. Therapy can help by giving you tools for self-care and teaching you how to set and maintain boundaries to prevent stretching yourself too thin in the future.

  • Recovery from burnout can vary for each person, depending on the severity and how long you've been experiencing it. It might take a few weeks to several months to feel better. The key is to prioritize self-care, set boundaries, and seek support to gradually restore your energy and well-being. Since these things don’t come naturally to many of us, therapy can help you learn to integrate them into your life.

  • Anxiety can affect the brain by activating the "fight or flight" response, which involves areas like the amygdala and prefrontal cortex. This can lead to heightened alertness, difficulty concentrating, and an overactive stress response. Over time, chronic anxiety can alter brain function and structure, making it harder to manage stress and emotions. Therapy can help you learn how to soothe your nervous system to alert your brain that there is no immediate danger and allow you to more easily relax.

  • We may use a variety of therapeutic interventions and approaches depending on your unique needs. This may include: traditional talk therapy from an existentialist perspective, somatic therapies such as EMDR, Polyvagal theory, or Ego-State therapy, mindfulness-based strategies such as yoga/pranayama practice, or activities/homework such as journaling or keeping a daily mood log.

  • Therapy is a commitment and an investment in yourself. Unfortunately, it is impossible to accurately predict the number of therapy sessions you will need. However, your consistency and dedicated effort, along with mine, will hasten the process.
